Jonathan Hook is a member of IOR's Strategic Advisory Team.

Jonathan most recently retired as CIO for the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. He created the investment office in 2014 and was responsible for managing the foundation’s investment portfolio totaling $3.4 billion, one of the largest private foundations in the U.S. Prior to joining the foundation, Hook was CIO at both Ohio State University and Baylor University. In both cases, he created and managed the Office of Investments long-term investment pool which included endowment funds. He was charged with developing a new asset allocation policy, building an investment team, and charting a new path for the institutional capital of each school. Prior to moving to the institutional investing field, he spent 20 years in the corporate and investment banking fields.  Throughout his career he focused on origination in the energy sectors specializing in oil and gas exploration and production, oilfield services, and utilities.


Hook has served on multiple Boards and Advisory committees in the financial and non-for-profit arenas. He graduated from Willamette University with a B.S. in Economics and Sociology and from Baylor University with his M.B.A. in Finance.
